Job summary

The Children’s Guild, Inc. is hiring a Therapist/Clinician for its Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) in Maryland and Washington, D.C. This entry- to mid-level role focuses on delivering evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, and families.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and providing CBT and TF-CBT under supervision. A supportive, mission-driven environment awaits with opportunities for licensure pathway.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field is required
• Graduate licensure in Maryland or D.C. (LMSW, LGPC or equivalent) preferred or candidates awaiting licensure encouraged to apply
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions under clinical supervision (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, play therapy)
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with COMAR and HIPAA
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, and school staff
• Engage families as active partners in therapy
• Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development

Our OMHC provides evidence-based, trauma-informed outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and families across multiple locations in Maryland and Washington, D.C.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a new or early-career clinician to grow their skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment. As a Therapist/Clinician, you will:

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents with diverse mental health needs
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, play therapy) under clinical supervision
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with COMAR, HIPAA, and agency standards
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, case managers, and school staff
• Engage families as active partners in the therapeutic process
• Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (required)
• Graduate licensure in Maryland or D.C. (LMSW, LGPC, or equivalent); candidates awaiting licensure encouraged to apply
• Genuine passion for working with children, adolescents, and families
• Basic knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic modalities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
