Job summary

Swatch Group is hiring a Watchmaker in Seattle to execute full-service repair of movements, from servicing the movement to assembling the case and encapsulating the movement, with a focus on Omega Brand. You will work within a dynamic team, report to the Workshop Manager, and handle various watch types from basic mechanical to chronographs.

The role requires formal watchmaking training or certification, strong communication, customer service, and a drive for excellence.

Qualifications

  • Watchmaking apprenticeship or basic watch repair certification.
  • Completion of a watchmaking apprenticeship with satisfactory results.
  • Post-apprenticeship training such as WOSTEP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Full service on movements: dismantling, replacement/ fixing parts, cleaning, reassemble, rate check and adjustment.
  • Repair on Omega Brand movements according to brand guidelines.
  • Analyze and decide proper repair methodology for movements.
  • Use or develop tools and processes to address issues during repair.
  • Coordinate with team to maintain equipment and order consumables.
  • Ensure all services are completed and watch is ready to wear.

Job Description
  • Full service on movements: movement dismantling, replacement/ fixing of broken parts, cleaning, reassemble, rate check and adjustment
  • Able to perform technical repair and service on Omega Brand according to guidelines established by Brand
  • Analyze and take decisions to define proper methodology to repair the movement
  • Use or develop adequate tools or processes to correct issues that can arise during the repair process
  • Work in coordination with the rest of the team to ensure smooth operations (maintain equipment and tools, order consumables)
  • Ensure all required services for the customer have been carried and the watch is ready to wear
Profile

Watchmaker who, within a dynamic and growing team, will be responsible for the watch repairing process from servicing the movement to preparing/assemble the case and encase the movement.

The Watchmaker will report to the Workshop Manager and will primarily focus on the Omega Brand.

The Watchmaker must have the skills and experience necessary to service all types of watches from basic mechanical and quartz movements and also chronographs.

Professional Requirements
  • For partial repair, watchmaking apprenticeship or Basic Certificate in Watch Repair TAFE course
  • For complete repair, completion of a watchmaking apprenticeship with satisfactory results
  • For specialist repair, specialist knowledge of complicated movements or completion with satisfactory results of a post-apprenticeship course, such as WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Education Programme)

The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $85,000.
