Job summary

Olympic Medical Center on the Port Angeles campus is seeking a Staff Clinical Educator in Staff Development to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate educational programs. You will assist with outpatient clinic education and contribute to clinical competency activities across nurses and medical assistants.

The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assistant credential, a high school diploma, and at least five years in healthcare with prior teaching or staff development experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program accredited/approved by WA Department of Health required.
• AA in healthcare or related field preferred.
• Minimum five years’ healthcare experience in outpatient or inpatient settings required.
• Previous teaching or staff development experience required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Current Medical Assistant–Certified license issued by WA DOH required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs with the Director of Staff Development.
• Assists educating within the OMP outpatient clinic and performs duties consistent with MA education, training and certification.
• Participates in organizational educational needs assessments and quality improvement activities.
• Assists Staff Development Team to complete clinical competency checklists for RN/MAs as needed.
• Uses clinical knowledge to advance training of OMP Clinical Support Staff.
• Attends meetings, training and orientations to deliver educational support.
• Teaches Basic Life Support as needed to support the organization.
