Olympic Medical Center is seeking a Staff Development Educator to plan, coordinate and evaluate educational programs in collaboration with the Director of Staff Development.

This role supports outpatient clinic education, advances clinical staff training, and participates in quality improvement activities. BLS instruction is required as needed, with opportunities to contribute to organizational goals and staff development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Accredited/approved Medical Assistant program required by WA DOH.
  • AA in healthcare or related field preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant–Certified license issued by WA DOH required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate educational programs with the Director of Staff Development.
  • Educate within the outpatient clinic and support clinical staff education.
  • Assist in quality improvement activities and competency checklists for RN/MA staff.
  • Teach Basic Life Support as needed and attend meetings/trainings to deliver educational support.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs, in conjunction with the Director of Staff Development. Assists educating within the OMP outpatient clinic and perform duties that are consistent with their Medical Assistant education, training, experience, and certification. Participates in organizational educational needs assessments and quality improvement activities; assists the Staff Development Team to complete clinical competency checklist for RN/MAs as needed Uses clinical knowledge and skills to advance the training and education of OMP Clinical Support Staff. This position supports managers and supervisors to resolve education gaps in clinical staff and attends meetings, training and orientations as necessary to deliver educational support. Participates in standardization and support of strategic and organizational goals, including maintaining accreditations and affiliations. Supports educational initiatives clinical and non-clinical based on experience and initiative requirements. This role is required to teach Basic Life Support as needed to support the organization.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT COMPETENCIES EDUCATION.

High school diploma/GED required. Completion of Medical Assistant program accredited or approved by the Washington Department of Health required. AA in healthcare or related field preferred. Minimum five years’ experience in healthcare in an outpatient clinic or inpatient setting required. Previous teaching or staff development experience required. LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Current Medical Assistant– Certified license issued by the WA State Department of Health required.
