Join to apply for the Oklahoma Business Development Manager role at HNTB

This opportunity entails supporting business or client development efforts for an office. The Business Development Manager may assume the role of Client Service Leader and/or Pursuit Champion for assigned client(s). Responsible for partnering with office leadership to support the implementation of HNTB’s Sophisticated Planning Approach (SPA) and supports the Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA) process as assigned by supervisor.

What You’ll Do
  1. Define and execute growth strategies to increase HNTB’s market share in an office geography.
  2. Lead and participate in business development activities and client-focused initiatives in partnership with office leadership.
  3. Implement SPA, develop external relationship plans, and support client focus strategies.
  4. Support development of strategic plans with national resources to define growth goals.
  5. Strengthen relationships at all levels of the client organization and with external influencers.
  6. Identify recruiting needs and leverage networks to bring talent aligned with company culture.
  7. Support sales efforts using the SSA stages 1-3 to pursue opportunities.
  8. May serve as a client service leader and/or pursuit champion.
  9. Collaborate on legislative strategies and community initiatives.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 8 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Understanding of the A&E industry, client development, and emerging markets.
What We Prefer
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Planning with 15 years of experience.
  • Experience in transportation industries and working with Oklahoma agencies like ODOT, OTA, or local municipalities.
  • Proven industry leadership and experience in building new business lines.
