Place of Job in Organizational Structure:OJT Reporting to Packaging Lead

Overview:

Job Purpose: Train new hires in the operation of their assigned workstation and associated duties relevant to support daily production. Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and programs alongside the production engineers. Perform Packaging related work as required during training process and when no new hires are assigned to shift.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize personal safety and comply with facility safety regulations.
  • Train new hires following training checklists and other training program guidance.
  • Train new hires using approved training methods such as the 5-D method “Describe, Demonstrate, Do, Double-Check, Document” teaching method.
  • Demonstrate SME Level capacity for the following positions:
    • Packaging Operator
  • Demonstrate SME level capacity for the following skills:
    • Pallet Jack/Wrapping Robot Use: Able to safely operate an EPJ and Wrapping robot to unload packaging bays, stage in progress pallets, wrap finished goods, and transport finished good.
    • Strapping Gun Use: Able to safely operate a strapping gun to strap panels to the pallet in a trolley, package upper and lower pallets after removal from the trolley, and properly strap a double stack of pallets after they are stacked by a forklift.
    • Scanner/MES Use: Able to scan barcodes and create shipping lists. Able to troubleshoot basic MES, scanner, and printer issues.
    • Post MRB Processes: Familiar with the MRB process, and how to process OK, P1, NG, Retest, and RW panels after MRB inspection.
  • Use positive feedback methods to coach new hires and build their confidence and skills throughout their training period.
  • Track new hire progress and push for completion of each new hires training period to support the <5.8-work day average training target.
  • Schedule observation and testing for new hires who have completed their training checklists and are ready to work independently with the production engineers.
  • Provide training in a manner that supports production shift targets and reduces potential downtime and defects at all times.
  • Provide vacancy/callout coverage as needed when not performing primary training duties to reduce shift OT and support production goals.

Key Requirement’s and Competencies:

  • High school education equivalent!
  • Excellent communication skills and strong English proficiency!
  • Positive attitude. Empathetic and encouraging mindset focused on positive feedback and relationship building with new hires.
  • Subject matter expert in role. Able to demonstrate technical mastery and strong KPI performance.
  • Systematic approach to training. Ability to follow a structured consistent process with each new hire. Targeting key learning objectives and effective progressions towards training completion.
