Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Winder Helper for the 2nd shift to support the OIP Bushing area. You will learn the winding process through hands-on training while working side by side with experienced Winders.

You will assist with materials, tools, equipment, and production needs, building the skills to progress into a Winder role, while maintaining safety, quality and teamwork on the shop floor, standing up to 12 hours and lifting up to 35 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to learn from assembly drawings and winding processes.
• Strong attention to safety, quality and teamwork.

OIP Bushing Winder Helper

2nd Shift

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking Winder Helpers to support the OIP Bushing area. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the winding process through hands-on training while working side by side with experienced Winders. Winder Helpers will support the winding process by assisting with materials, tools, equipment, and production needs while building the skills needed to progress into a Winder role.

How you'll make an impact

• Assist Winder Operators by preparing materials, tools, equipment, and work areas to help keep the winding process moving efficiently
• Work side by side with experienced Winders to learn the condenser bushing winding process through an apprentice-style training approach
• Support winding activities using winding machines, overhead cranes, lifting devices, hand tools, winding templates, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices
• Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications with guidance from trained team members
• Communicate equipment, material, quality, or process concerns to the Winder Operator, supervisor, maintenance, engineering, or quality team as needed
• Participate in continuous training to build the skills needed to progress into a Winder role
• Work safely within a team environment and follow all safety, quality, and production requirements
• Operate a computer and learn specialized programs as needed to perform job functions
• Stand and/or walk on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours per day and regularly lift or manipulate up to 35 pounds safely

Your background

• High School Diploma or GED
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to learn assembly drawings, measuring devices, and winding processes through structured training

• Interest in developing skills toward a future Winder role
