Job summary

Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids is seeking a Quick Lube Technician Apprentice to gain hands-on experience and work toward state certification through our in-house program. You’ll perform oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections while learning from a team focused on your growth and success.

This onsite role is Monday–Friday 7:30am–5:00pm with rotating Saturdays (8:00am–1:00pm) and occasional extended hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prefer prior basic vehicle mechanical experience.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather.
• Strong attention to detail and coachability.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
• Reliable, trustworthy, organized, and efficient.
• Ability to operate an automobile with a valid driver’s license.
• Must allow pre-employment screenings, background, driving, and drug test.
• Must perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Complete oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid services.
• Inspect and adjust tire pressure; support vehicle performance and safety.
• Perform tire rotations on customer vehicles.
• Conduct multi-point inspections following GM standards.
• Communicate recommendations to Quick Lube Advisors after inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adhere to shop safety procedures.
