Job summary

Clifford Chance US LLP seeks an experienced associate for its Houston Corporate Transactions & Advisory group focusing on upstream, midstream, and broader oil and gas transactions. The role supports cross-border deals and complex energy projects under senior leadership in Houston.

Ideal candidate has 3+ years in energy transactions, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and ability to manage transaction workstreams with multidisciplinary teams. Texas Bar admission or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar membership or eligibility to waive in.
• At least three years in oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, or natural resources transactions.
• Experience with mergers & acquisitions, A&D, joint ventures, and energy-sector contracts.
• Ability to manage transaction workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Represent energy clients in sophisticated domestic and international transactions across upstream, midstream, LNG, and offshore projects.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents and energy-related agreements.
• Independently manage significant portions of complex deals and coordinate with specialists across practices.
