Job summary

HumCap is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team supporting domestic and international operations in oil and gas. The role offers broad exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, inventory accounting, foreign currency transactions, and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
Advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Analyze financial results and investigate account variances.
Support balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
Participate in inventory accounting and related reporting activities.
Assist with external audits and financial statement support.
Review and analyze foreign currency transactions and related accounting impacts.
Collaborate with accounting, operations, and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Support process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
