Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant in Denver, CO for an on-site, permanent role with a $120,000–$160,000 yearly salary. You will provide technical accounting expertise across the oil and gas segment, research guidance, and support complex transactions. Strong GAAP knowledge and CPA are highly valued.

You will partner with accounting, finance, and operations, support new standards, prepare memos, and contribute to audit readiness while improving processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong technical accounting.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Experience in oil and gas or energy industry required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience researching standards and drafting memos.

Responsibilities

• Research and interpret U.S. GAAP and accounting standards for company transactions.
• Prepare technical memos and documentation for complex transactions.
• Evaluate treatment for acquisitions, divestitures, leases, and debt/equity.
• Support implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory guidance.
• Assist with financial statements and disclosures; ensure GAAP compliance.
• Partner with teams to ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Document accounting conclusions for oil and gas transactions.
• Support impairment, ARO, depletion, and related accounting for oil and gas properties.
• Assist with purchase accounting and valuation matters.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
• Monitor standards changes and update policies and controls.
