Job summary

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission seeks an Attorney (Oil & Gas) to provide advice and representation on the regulation of oil and gas under the OCC Office of General Counsel. This role requires thorough legal analysis, preparation of memoranda, and participation in hearings before an OCC Administrative Law Judge or the Commission.

A JD and admission to the Oklahoma Bar, with at least three years of practice, are required. Oil and Gas Conservation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Admission to the Oklahoma Bar Association and three years of experience in the practice of law.
• Knowledge of Oklahoma statutes, Constitution, administrative law, and rules of evidence.
• Preferred experience in Oil and Gas Conservation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze factual and legal issues in the review of policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and technical manuals.
• Prepare memoranda of law and advisory opinions.
• Represents regulatory division in cases before an OCC Administrative Law Judge or the Commission.
• Draft contracts and other legal instruments or documents related to regulatory matters.
• Answer inquiries from the public and staff regarding legal issues; assist with complaints and questions about regulated entities.
