Placements24 in Queenstown, ZA, is seeking a Production Chemist to support field production chemistry, analyze production fluids, and develop chemical treatments to optimize hydrocarbon recovery. This is hands-on, on-site role requiring lab work and field support.

The ideal candidate has a BSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and at least four years in production chemistry within oil and gas, with strong analytical skills and knowledge of corrosion control and demulsification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in production chemistry within Oil & Gas or related field.
• Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentation used in fluid analysis.
• Understanding of reservoir fluids, production processes, and production chemical applications.
• Experience with corrosion monitoring, scale inhibition, and demulsification techniques.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production fluids (oil, gas, water) to determine composition, contaminants and quality.
• Develop and recommend chemical treatment programs for production enhancement and corrosion control.
• Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate performance and compatibility of production chemicals.
• Monitor effectiveness of treatments and adjust programs as needed.
• Troubleshoot production chemistry issues and provide timely solutions.
• Collaborate with production engineers and field operations to implement treatment strategies.
• Maintain records of analytical results, dosages and performance data.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations.
