Job summary

Danos, LLC in Carlsbad, NM is seeking an Equipment Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing oil and gas production equipment, focusing on high-speed compressors, engines, pumps, and VRUs.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, manage work orders, maintain records, and coordinate with operations and contractors while adhering to safety and environmental procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• 1-3+ years of industrial/mechanical maintenance experience with rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, VRUs).
• Experience maintaining high-speed compressors and engines preferred.
• Experience with equipment in the 500-2,500 HP range preferred.
• Knowledge of oil and gas surface production equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to perform basic electrical and automation troubleshooting.
• SAP and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors, climb stairs, lift/carry equipment, and wear PPE.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and safety awareness.
• Must meet all job requirments.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high-speed compressors, engines, VRUs, and other rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
• Support compressor surveillance, reliability, and optimization efforts.
• Manage assigned work orders and maintenance backlog.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and parts inventory needed for compressor maintenance.
• Identify equipment failures and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical and automation equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment records.
• Follow all safety, environmental, operating, and maintenance procedures.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance teams, and contractors as needed.
• Support initiatives focused on reducing operating costs and improving equipment uptime.
