Job summary

Tetra Tech Digital Systems seeks an Automation SAT Specialist based in Williston, ND to support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup readiness for oil & gas projects. You will verify PLC, HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, and control system functionality while coordinating with project teams and vendors.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in automation/controls, strong troubleshooting, and documentation skills, with the ability to read control narratives and P&IDs. Travel and 14/14 rotation may apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in automation, I&E, commissioning, controls, or related field.
• Experience supporting FAT/SAT/startup or controls checkout activities.
• Ability to read control narratives, P&IDs, electrical drawings, I/O lists.

Responsibilities

• Support FAT activities, vendor testing, and deployment readiness.
• Verify PLC, HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, communications, and control system functionality.
• Execute SAT and commissioning validation using control narratives, Cause & Effect matrices, I/O lists, and verification checklists.
• Identify, document, track, and help resolve automation and controls issues.
• Coordinate with commissioning technicians, vendors, operations, and project stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate testing records, punch lists, and documentation.
• Assist with startup support and continuous improvement initiatives.
