Job summary
Select Water Solutions in Midland, TX is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead oil & gas automation projects, develop scalable PLC/HMI solutions, and support field operations with PLC programming, debugging, and system integration.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining automated assets, training field personnel, and ensuring safety and compliance across projects with a strong focus on data collection, wiring diagrams, and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent in industrial automation, instrumentation, electrical, PLC programming, and oilfield operations experience.
- Expert understanding of industrial automation processes including hardware, software and electrical aspects.
Responsibilities
- Developing and designing scalable technology solutions.
- Implementing and maintaining automated equipment.
- Troubleshooting existing automated assets.
- Training automation and field personnel on operating equipment.
- Leading testing and implementation in the field for new products and projects.
- Maintaining wiring diagrams and programming documentation.
