Oil Change and Tire Technician (Maintenance)


Get with Spiffy and go mobile! Are you an automotive enthusiast with tire experience who is looking to expand your horizons in the mobile industry? As a Mobile Oil and Tire Technician, you will travel to different designated sites in a fully equipped company van performing preventative maintenance services with a primary focus on oil changes, filter replacements, topping off vital fluids, and conducting tire services such as rotations and balancing to ensure vehicle optimization. Must be willing to work in ALL weather conditions. If you prefer a temperature controlled environment, this job may not be ideal for you. Shift: 7am start time (30-40 hours weekly)

Competitive starting base rate of $22/hr. paid weekly
$1/hr. Increase after 90 days based on performance

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  1. Perform oil changes by draining old engine oil, replacing oil filters, refilling new oil, and ensuring there are no leaks, adhering to manufacturer's specifications and established guidelines.
  2. Conduct fluid top offs for transmission, power steering, brakes, coolant and other essential components, adhering to manufacturer's specifications and established guidelines.
  3. Render tire services such as mounting and dismounting, balancing, rotation, inspection, and other repairs as needed.
  4. Ensure proper disposal of old tires.
  5. Utilize automotive tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  6. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, explaining services performed, and recommending additional maintenance or detailing options when necessary.
  7. Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to car washing, detailing, and lube services.
  8. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow, meet service timelines, and uphold the company's reputation for excellence.
  9. Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations at all times.
  10. Assist with other automotive service tasks as needed or assigned.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

  1. Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and the ability to drive.
  2. Must be an energetic self-starter willing to work in all weather conditions to include but not limited to hot and cold temperatures, rain, snow, and sleet.
  3. Be a team player, hardworking, honest, reliable, and timely.
  4. Basic computer and math skills, tech-savvy with a smartphone.
  5. Must be able to lift and move inventory items and other work-related items (up to 50 lbs).
  6. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation.
  8. Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and move around vehicles for extended periods.
  9. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry developments.
  10. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

WHAT EXPERIENCE ISN'T REQUIRED BUT WILL HELP SET YOU APART FROM OTHER APPLICANTS?

  1. Previous experience as a Tire Technician with exposure to various makes and models of vehicles.
  2. Prior experience as an Oil Change and Lube Technician, preferably servicing fleet or in a quick lube environment.
  3. Experience working in the elements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job will involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, dust/dirt and exhaust fumes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods.
Must be able to lift and move inventory items and other work-related items (up to 50 pounds).

Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, lift, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, climb steps, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, all of this for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the day.
