Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oil and Gas Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with specialized knowledge in oil and gas industry practices. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, develop, implement, and maintain electrical systems and equipment used in oil and gas production, refining, and distribution facilities. The Oil and Gas Electrical Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems within the industry's unique operational environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee the installation of electrical systems and equipment for oil and gas facilities, including drilling rigs, production platforms, refineries, pipelines, and distribution terminals.
  • Develop electrical engineering specifications, drawings, and documentation in compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., NEC, API, NEMA).
  • Conduct electrical load calculations, power distribution studies, and short-circuit analysis to optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Specify and select electrical components, equipment, and materials based on project requirements, technical specifications, and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate electrical hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose failures, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

Requirements
