Job summary

South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking an OIG Supervisor to lead the training and accreditation component, ensuring compliance with CALEA standards. This role oversees accreditation personnel and supports investigations and training oversight across facilities.

The incumbent will coordinate programs, conduct investigations, prepare official reports and testify when required, and may perform commissioned law enforcement duties. Residency in South Carolina is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher with investigative experience in public law enforcement.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Two years of law enforcement investigative experience and SCJJA Class I certification.
• Current SCJJA Class I certification is required; SCCJA instructor cert within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate agency programs, training, and events with internal departments and facilities.
• Conduct criminal and administrative investigations and coordinate with law enforcement.
• Prepare statements, affidavits, and testimony; draft reports of findings.
• Respond to calls for service; ensure evidence and statements are documented.
• Assist with planning for special assignments and ICS procedures; monitor inmate phones.
• Assist in planning for special assignments and training; liaison with other units.
• Perform commissioned law enforcement duties when required; on-call after hours.
