Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Offsite Registered Nurse to provide safe, competent, high-quality care in a collaborative environment on Staten Island, NY. This full-time day-shift role supports the Staten Island Multispecialty OFFS – MSH and requires strong clinical practice and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities include developing and evaluating care standards, direct patient care, discharge planning, and participation in quality improvement and nursing research.

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN or Diploma considered if hired prior to January 1995 or currently matriculating in a BSN program.
• Current RN License in New York State.
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card.
• Basic Life Saver (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and professional practice.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
• Provide direct, continuous care for a specific caseload of patients.
• Coordinate patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and healthcare team members.
• Participate in performance improvement, nursing quality, and nursing research activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and significant others to plan and implement care.
• Conduct discharge planning from admission to discharge or transfer.
• Maintain clinical competence and be responsible for professional growth and development.
• Support the mission, philosophy, standards, and objectives of the institution and department.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
