Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks a design-focused engineer to create detailed 3D models and production-ready drawings for offsite manufactured solutions. You will leverage DMFA principles and MCAD tools to drive product details from concept through specification and testing.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure design compliance with codes, contract documents, and project schedules, while advancing automation and efficiency in the design process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering or related field with minimum 5 years in manufacturing or construction
• Experience in prefabrication, manufacturing, commercial construction, and construction operations
• Proficiency in MCAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CAD Mep, Rhino, or similar)
• Familiar with design/document coordination software (Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360)
• Basic scripting (Python, C#, VB.Net) to enhance design processes
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
• Interpersonal and team-building skills across organizational levels

Responsibilities

• Design product details applying DMFA principles
• Design and develop detailed 3D models and drawings for offsite manufactured solutions
• Develop into product subject matter expert for xPL Product Development team
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and consultants to develop design details
• Collaborate with engineering consultants to review design compliance with codes and contract specs
• Participate in prototype testing, quality reviews, and design enhancements
• Collaborate with manufacturing and delegated design engineering teams to ensure manufacturing integrity
• Assist Offsite Manufacturing and Preconstruction teams to apply product to project applications
• Develop and apply scripting to automate routine design tasks
• Other duties as assigned
