Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Underwater Inspection Controller to support offshore and onshore projects on a 24-month contract. The role is suited for independent contractors and may involve work from a vessel or the Houston remote operations center for extended campaigns.

The successful candidate will have subsea inspection experience, familiarity with NEXUS IC, and offshore safety credentials, enabling live video commentary and thorough report generation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience conducting inspection campaigns of either subsea components or onshore equipment.
• 3+ years hands-on subsea inspection experience; CSWIP 3.3U/3.4U preferred.
• NDE methods (UT, MT, etc.) and PC networking knowledge preferred.
• Excellent English communication; other languages a plus.
• Willing to work offshore for 3+ weeks per campaign.
• Offshore HSSEA requirements (BOSIET/HUET, TWIC) within 14 days.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs; pass background check and DOT drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect topside and subsea components on and offshore under supervision.
• Carry out offshore inspection campaigns for three or more weeks at a time.
• Generate procedures and reports per client requests and standards.
• Learn and use NEXUS IC or equivalent software and data systems.
• Provide live video commentary during campaigns.
• Assist mobilization/demobilization of inspection equipment.
• Prepare work packs and database and review video/reports post-campaign.
