Job summary

Gulf Island Fabrication is seeking an Offshore Scaffold Builder to perform scaffolding work in support of steel structure fabrication, following job specifications and ISO/QC program standards.

Essential duties include erecting and dismantling scaffolding for safe work platforms, fitting pipe and braces, lifting and positioning components, and using hand tools. Candidates must have 2+ years offshore scaffold building experience and hold a valid TWIC card.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Valid TWIC card

Responsibilities

Job description

Main Purpose:

The Offshore Scaffold Builder performs assigned scaffolding work in support of steel structure fabrication, compliance with job specifications and accordance with scaffolding procedures and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) / Quality Control (QC) program standards.

• Lift and position scaffolding, bolts pipe and places planks
• Use various hand tools
• Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with operating procedures

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
• Turning, twisting, bending, and balancing
• Pushing, pulling and reaching
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in offshore scaffold building

Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:

• 8+ years experience in offshore scaffold building
• Highschool diploma or equivalent

Tools, Equipment, and Technology:

• Pliers, hammers, wrenches, lifting devices, safety equipment (belt, harness, etc.), man lifts and high reach equipment.

Environmental Conditions:

Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc.
