Job summary

Siemens Gamesa, based in Orlando, USA, seeks an experienced Wind Turbine Installation professional to coordinate installation activities, ensure safety, and lead teams across diverse projects worldwide.

You will train colleagues, supervise lift operations, and maintain accurate records while traveling extensively across the USA, Europe, and APAC. A strong safety focus and IT literacy are essential.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience of all aspects of wind turbine installation including sling­ing, signaling, mechanical completion, retrofit & snagging.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems and isolation procedures (qualifications helpful).
  • High level of health and safety focus with safe systems of work.
  • Ability to work in a team and/or independently; comfortable at height and in adverse weather.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, supervise, train and ensure safety during all phases of Wind Turbine Installation.
  • Prepare transition pieces, tools, equipment and components during loadout and installation; close punch lists.
  • Keep and maintain logbooks, documentation and reports as required by policy.
  • Supervise and train new colleagues and third-party staff; ensure work follows workflow and work instructions.
  • Act as signaler per work instructions, checklists and lift plans.
  • Lead small teams and maintain required training.

A Snapshot of Your Day

Coordinate installation of wind turbine projects, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and project specifications. SGRE is based in Orlando, USA, you can however be deployed to projects worldwide including (EU and APAC). The role will provide you with lots of variety, learning and development opportunities along with an exceptional team culture. You will follow a shift pattern therefore a flexible approach to travel and working away from home on a continuing basis is crucial. How You'll Make an Impact
  • Perform, supervise, train and ensure safety during all phases of Wind Turbine Installation.
  • Prepare transition piece, tools, equipment and components during loadout and installation, as well as perform closure of punch lists during installation.
  • Keep and maintain accurate logbooks, documentation and reports as required by company policy.
  • Supervise and conduct the training of new colleagues / 3rd party employees and ensure that work is conducted according to the defined workflow and work instructions.
  • Act as signaler in accordance with work instructions, checklists and lift plans.
  • Lead small teams and keep up to date with all required training as defined by your role profile.
What You Bring
  • The ideal candidate for this role will have hands on experience of all aspects of Wind Turbine Installation including Slinging, Signaling, Mechanical Completion, Retrofit & Snagging works. In addition, knowledge of Low Voltage Electrical systems and isolation procedures, preferably in the form of a recognized qualification whilst not essential would be a distinct advantage.
  • This role requires a high level of Health and Safety focus with experience of working with safe systems of work. You will demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative and have the ability and confidence to work at height. This includes appropriate physical fitness to climb and undertake some physical work. You will also be comfortable and experienced working in adverse weather conditions.
  • Candidates must be able and willing to travel extensively within the USA, Europe, and APAC.
  • Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and good knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact and full understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management
  • Communicate effectively across various organizational levels, considering diverse cultures, and demonstrate advanced IT literacy.
