Job summary

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking a Wind Technician to service and maintain wind turbines on our projects in the United States. The role requires the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, manage complex systems in challenging environments, and provide outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in related field is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; DMV checks may apply.
• Minimum 6 months experience in a mechanical, electrical or industrial field.
• Must be physically able to work at heights and in confined spaces; meet safety weight limits.
• Pre-hire drug screening is required.
• Renewable Energy/Wind Tech certification or hands-on wind farm experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

The candidate will work together with a multi-disciplinary group to ensure top performance on our wind farms. The ideal candidate has the ability to work a flexible schedule, along with the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently. Deliver outstanding customer service, handle complex systems in challenging environments, and contribute to developing new field procedures.

Relocation may be offered for this role should it be necessary. Flexible travel schedule up to 25%.

How You’ll Make an Impact

What You Bring

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred, with an associate's degree in a related field being a plus.
• Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.
• Must have minimum of 6 months experience in a mechanical, electrical or industrial field. Relevant work experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/ fixing in a military, industrial or automotive industry.
• Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
• Must pass pre-hire background drug screening
• Certification from a Renewable Energy or Wind Technical Program or Hands on work experience as a Wind Technician on a Wind Farm nice to have
