Job summary

Ørsted A/S is seeking an experienced electrical professional to support the North-East offshore wind program. You will commission, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot HV and LV equipment in substations, provide safety guidance, and work across onshore and offshore sites.

Qualifications

• At least five years of electrical working and maintenance experience at a substation as a qualified person operating under HV Safety Rules.
• Experience performing switching operations on high‑voltage transmission assets.
• Willingness to become a qualified person under the ØESR with training provided.
• Able to work a shift pattern, sometimes offshore for extended periods.
• Must have valid US driver’s license and comply with GWO safety training.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety through electrical isolation, earthing, and switching of HV/LV equipment in substations for planned and unplanned work.
• Undertake preventive and corrective maintenance of high‑voltage substation assets per manufacturer instructions.
• Perform troubleshooting using alarm signals on SCADA or local control system.
• Operate transmission system configurations and contingencies for a wind farm and understand relay protection schemes.
• Manage outages and control network with SCADA or local system, coordinating with relevant personnel.
• Lead contractors and work parties on transmission assets within a substation and coordinate inter‑system operation and safety procedures.
