Job summary

H&P Offshore is seeking an Offshore Engineering Manager to provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for Operations Engineering in offshore drilling. You will manage engineers, set priorities, and partner with HSE, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective rig performance.

You will lead across disciplines, drive risk-based decisions, and maintain engineering standards and procedures to improve safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 10 years experience supporting drilling or offshore operations, including leading engineers or technical professionals and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong working knowledge of API specifications and SEMS requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead across multiple engineering disciplines and drive risk-based decisions.

Responsibilities

• Leads, coaches, and develops Operations Engineers; sets performance expectations.
• Allocates engineering resources across rigs and projects based on risk, client commitments, value, and capacity.
• Serves as senior engineering liaison with Operator and Company leadership, translating requirements into technical plans and accountability.
• Provides technical leadership and escalation support to rig teams for complex equipment and maintenance issues.
• Defines department objectives; approves operating plans, budgets, and risk controls.
• Owns the quality and timeliness of customer performance reviews and improvement initiatives.
