Job summary

Helmerich & Payne, Inc. in the United States seeks an Offshore Engineering Manager to lead the Operations Engineering function for offshore drilling programs.

You will direct a team of Operations Engineers, set priorities, and collaborate with Operations, HSE, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Clients, and other engineering disciplines to deliver safe, reliable rig performance. This role requires strategic judgment, risk-based decision making, and the ability to translate technical plans into field

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 10 years experience supporting drilling or offshore operations with leadership of engineers or technical professionals and multiple priorities.
• Strong working knowledge of API specifications and RP applicable to drilling rigs and equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of Federal OCS regulatory requirements, including 30 CFR Part 250 and SEMS.
• Comprehensive knowledge of drilling operations, rig systems, equipment reliability, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to lead across multiple engineering disciplines and make risk-based decisions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership and sets priorities across rigs and projects based on risk and value.
• Leads, coaches, and develops Operations Engineers; assigns work and provides feedback.
• Translates operational requirements into clear technical plans and accountabilities.
• Provides escalation support to rig teams for complex issues and ensures timely actions.
• Reviews performance, budgets, and schedules; maintains change controls and safety focus.
