Job summary
Talos Energy Operating Company LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer for offshore operations based in Houston or Lafayette. The role focuses on asset-aligned automation support, PLC/HMI/SCADA upkeep, project execution, and collaboration with Operations, I&E, and IT teams to safely improve offshore production systems.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automation within oil & gas, offshore experience preferred, and a strong background in control networks, historian data, and cybersecurity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
- 5+ years of automation, controls, SCADA, or OT experience in oil & gas, offshore preferred.
- Experience supporting live production assets with PLC, HMI, SCADA, historian, instrumentation, and vendor interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Provide asset-aligned automation support for offshore operations and troubleshooting.
- Lead MOC reviews for automation, I&E, controls, alarms, and cybersecurity impacts.
- Coordinate with OT Systems, Data Reliability, and vendors on automation projects and commissioning.
- Document root causes, corrective actions, and follow-up on significant events affecting safety or production.
