Job summary

ConocoPhillips, Polar Tankers, is seeking a 3rd Mate to join our Alaska operations from Valdez. You will report to the Master and assist with all deck machinery, navigation, and cargo watch responsibilities while enforcing safety and pollution prevention rules.

The role requires full US working authorization and relevant maritime credentials. Responsibilities include supervising deck crew, participating in drills, and coordinating safety programs onboard, with typical 12-hour watch cycles and

Qualifications

• US work authorization required for United States.
• Endorsements and credentials listed in Basic Requirements.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Passport is preferred.
• Experience with tanker cargo operations and watchkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Navigate the vessel safely and maintain cargo watch.
• Oversee safety equipment and shipboard safety programs.
• Assist in cargo operations and deck duties.
• Support Master in organizing safety program aboard the vessel.
• Stand an independent watch in the cargo control room.
• Supervise ABs and monitor for spills/leaks.
• Perform cargo handling and rounds during cargo watch.
