Job summary

Moore Tulsa is seeking an Offset Web Press Operator for the night shift, to join our Commercial Print Team. You will operate web press machines, set up, maintain, and run the press to meet quality and postal specifications while directing the press crew as needed.

Responsibilities include color correction, make-ready tasks, maintaining press and documenting time, materials, and run speeds; candidates should have 2+ years of web press experience and be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience operating a web press preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate web printing press to print quality production and lead press crew.
• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multi-color web offset press.
• Review job specifications to determine press setup according to run imposition.
• Ensure make-ready tasks: hanging plates, examine plates/cylinders, image positioning, prepping blankets, tension and register adjustments.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs.
• Maintain press cleanliness, lubrication, minor repairs, notify maintenance for issues.
• Provide accurate documentation of time, materials, impressions, waste, and run speeds.
• Communicate with managers and departments (scheduling, prepress, maintenance).
• Work full-time with overtime as needed.

The Offset Web Press Operator is responsible for operating web press machines and will play an essential role in the company. This position is a leadership role and will assist in directing the work activities of the press team members to ensure productivity, quality, and safety goals are met.

NIGHT SHIFT- 6p-6a on a 4-3 / 3-4 shedule

Job Summary: As the Offset Web Press Operator, you will be responsible for performing manual and machine operator tasks related to the setup, maintenance and operations of the press and for the quantitative and qualitative press performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operate web printing press to print quality production, maintain quality of product, lead and direct press crew, maintain press, and work on other operation duties as directed by the supervisors.
• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multi-color web offset
• Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run.
• Ensure that all make-ready tasks are done which are associated with the press such as hanging plates, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections and checking for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
• Ensure that the press is clean, lubricated, and maintained, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer. Notify supervisor and the maintenance department of issues with the equipment.
• Maintain a safe and injury free work environment.
• Must be able to identify colors
• Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the press.
• Responsible for overall quality of the printed product including color reproduction, product specifications, imaging quality and postal specifications.
• Provide accurate documentation of time, materials, impressions, waste, and run speeds.
• Communicate information effectively with managers and other departments, such as scheduling, prepress, maintenance.
• Must be able to work a full-time shift, with some overtime as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven experience working as a pressman
• Knowledge of material requirements
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain close attention to detail for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work overtime as mandated by production needs.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education and Experience:

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a fast-paced production environment Preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience operating a web press Preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Required to stand for long periods of time, bend, reach and move about the facility

• Continuous standing/walking - 10 hours or more.

• Required to grip twist and turn both hands for long periods of time

Must be authorized to work in the United States and successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background investigation.
