Job Summary

Physical warehouse position unloading tractor trailer loads of furniture and staging them for deliveries.

Location & Schedule

Department: Bobs Discount Furniture Warehouse / Werner Final Mile
Location: Warehouse 448 Pepper St. Monroe CT 06468
Shift: Tue–Sat / 5‑day schedule 4:00am to 2:00pm

Responsibilities

• Ensure items are assembled according to manufacturer directions.
• Perform the minimum daily assembly output as directed by management.
• Report any defects or damages of parts immediately to management.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and environment.
• Properly dispose of all waste accumulated during the assembly process.
• Perform professionally and effectively when interacting with Drive Teams.
• Use equipment properly to ensure the safety of all team members.
• Follow delivery processes to ensure customer expectations are met and/or exceeded.
• Assist the Delivery Driver in executing the placement of delivery items as specified by the customer.
• Report all customer satisfaction issues to management.
• Communicate effectively, get along with co‑workers, customers, and supervisors.
• Embrace the Werner Final Mile values.
• Maintain a continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance and flexibility with schedule.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent experience.
• One or more years of experience in transportation, logistics, customer product assembly or delivery of furniture or appliances, or experience with a moving company.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Able to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Speak English and communicate with coworkers, and read assembly instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Seeing and hearing: Read documents 75‑100%, communicate in person 100%.
• Standing and walking 100%.
• Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling 0‑24%.
• Dexterity: utilizing hand dolly/cart 75‑100%.

Compensation

Starting pay range: $16.44–$21.92 per hour. Offers determined based on experience, skills and qualifications.
