Overview

Job Summary

Patrols and protects the entire campus, inside and outside; responds to all incidents or calls related to the safety and security of all persons and property on the campus. Officers are expected to demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and maintain a professional appearance while serving as ambassadors of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

1. Patrols the entire campus to deter crime and address any physical security or safety hazards identified.
2. Responds to calls involving disruptive behavior, disturbances, and combative patients, as well as internal or external alarms.
3. Understands, complies with, and enforces hospital policies and procedures. Enforces State and Local laws/ordinances as needed to ensure safety and security.
4. Submits all necessary reports promptly and professionally.
5. Performs escorts related to money transfers as directed by facility policy. Secures patient valuables upon request and performs non-monetary escorts for staff, visitors, physicians, and patients for safety and security.
6. Controls all parking on the property, with emphasis on critical and/or emergency parking areas.
7. Completes assigned goals.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year experience in security, preferably in a healthcare setting. Preferred: 2 or more years of security experience in healthcare.

Education

High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required by the position.

Training

CPR and CIT training within 1 year of hire preferred.

Special Skills

Basic computer literacy skills required.
