Job description

BrightNight is a high-growth renewable power developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a 30-gigawatt portfolio spanning 20 U.S. states. The company develops innovative, dispatchable, and hybrid energy solutions that deliver reliable, cost-efficient renewable power to utilities, data centers, and other high-demand customers across fast-growing energy markets. Supported by strong financial partners, including Goldman Sachs, experienced industry leadership, and proprietary capabilities such as PowerAlpha®. BrightNight is scaling rapidly while differentiating itself through an AI-enabled, automation-driven approach to project development and operations. For candidates, BrightNight offers the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility, work directly with experienced industry leaders, and grow alongside a company with real momentum and ambitious plans for the future. We’re building a company where intelligence is built in, not bolted on. It is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where smart, curious people can make an outsized impact, grow quickly, and help shape the future of reliable clean energy

Role Summary

What if your next role gave you a front-row seat to how a high-growth company is built, scaled, and led?

BrightNight is looking for an exceptional, intellectually curious professional to join the Office of the CEO in an Executive Engagement role.

This is not a traditional executive support position. You will work directly with our Founder & CEO and senior leadership team on strategic initiatives, executive communications, AI-enabled transformation, leadership programs, and other high-impact projects.

You will ask thoughtful questions, connect dots across the organization, turn complex ideas into clear recommendations, and help move important work from idea to execution.

Why BrightNight?

BrightNight is one of the fastest-growing renewable energy companies in North America. We develop, own, and operate renewable power projects across the full lifecycle, with more than 30 GW of projects across 20 U.S. states. We are backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs and Global Infrastructure Partners.

Our proprietary PowerAlpha® platform supports grid stability, project development, and commercial decision-making. We are also embedding AI into how work gets done to make our teams faster, smarter, and more effective.

We are entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast-paced. Our leaders are accessible, our employees have real ownership, and there are opportunities to build and improve rather than simply maintain what already exists.

The Role

You will operate at the intersection of strategy, communication, technology, and execution. You will help the CEO and senior leadership team make better-informed decisions, communicate priorities clearly, and maintain momentum on important work.

The role will vary with the company’s needs. Your work may include strategic analysis, executive presentations, leadership communications, cross-functional initiatives, AI transformation, offsite preparation, or turning an emerging idea into an actionable plan.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with the Founder & CEO on strategic priorities, business initiatives, and high-impact special projects.
  • Research business questions, markets, organizational topics, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop executive briefings, presentations, board materials, talking points, and decision documents.
  • Pressure-test strategies by identifying assumptions, risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and unanswered questions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and translate decisions into owners, milestones, and follow-up.
  • Track priorities, surface risks early, and help ensure important work moves forward.
  • Identify practical opportunities to use AI and automation to improve productivity and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support leadership meetings, offsites, workshops, and leadership development programs.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Expectations and Objectives

You will be expected to operate with judgment, urgency, and a high degree of ownership.

What We Expect From You
  • Create clarity from ambiguity by defining the question, gathering information, identifying stakeholders, and proposing a path forward.
  • Bring a point of view and make clear recommendations, not just summaries.
  • Prepare leaders to make decisions by explaining what matters, the available options, key tradeoffs, and the action required.
  • Move work from discussion to execution through clear owners, milestones, and follow-up.
  • Communicate with executive-level precision in writing, presentations, and meetings.
  • Anticipate risks, manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and know when to elevate.
  • Improve how the company works through better processes, operating rhythms, AI, and automation.
Objectives for the First 6–12 Months
  • Establish a dependable operating rhythm for CEO priorities, including preparation, tracking, decision follow-up, and visibility into commitments.
  • Improve the quality and speed of executive decision-making through concise research, recommendations, and clear articulation of risks and tradeoffs.
  • Advance several high-priority cross-functional initiatives into aligned plans with clear owners, milestones, and measurable progress.
  • Strengthen executive and leadership communications by translating complex topics into clear narratives for the right audiences.
  • Identify and implement practical AI or automation use cases that reduce manual work or improve information flow.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization and become a reliable partner in connecting strategy to execution.
What Success Looks Like

After your first year, the CEO and senior leadership team should have greater clarity on priorities, stronger follow-through on commitments, and better decision materials. Important initiatives should move with more momentum, and leaders should view you as a trusted partner who makes complex work clearer and easier to execute.

Who We’re Looking For

You may come from strategy, business operations, consulting, communications, program management, chief-of-staff work, or another environment where you have solved complex problems and moved important work forward.

You are likely to be successful if you are:

  • Intellectually curious and able to learn quickly.
  • An exceptional writer and communicator.
  • Skilled at turning complex problems into clear analysis, recommendations, and plans.
  • Comfortable creating polished, executive-level presentations and content.
  • Equipped with strong business and commercial instincts.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and incomplete information.
  • Professional, mature, discreet, and energized by a fast-moving environment.
Why This Role Is Different

You will have direct exposure to our Founder & CEO and firsthand insight into executive decision-making, business strategy, company building, and leadership. You will work across development, operations, finance, technology, commercial, and people teams while contributing to AI-driven transformation efforts.

For the right person, this role offers an opportunity to compress years of learning through hands‑on ownership, executive visibility, and exposure to experienced industry leaders.

Travel

This role requires approximately 25–50% travel to support leadership meetings, company events, strategic initiatives, and executive engagements.

The Opportunity

If you are looking for a role that combines strategy, executive exposure, AI, communication, and company building, this is a rare opportunity to help shape a rapidly growing renewable energy company.
