Torc Robotics is seeking an Office Manager to drive efficient site operations in Ann Arbor, MI. You’ll manage office supplies, vendor relationships, and internal processes while coordinating events and site activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage office operations and inventory for supplies and equipment.
  • Own vendor relationships for services and supplies from sourcing to performance.
  • Develop SOPs, templates, playbooks, and shared services models.
  • Partner with Facilities to ensure health, safety, and security protocols.
  • Provide light maintenance and troubleshooting for office equipment.
  • Support strategic planning for the office and coordinate events and engagements.
  • Plan and execute workshops, events, and visits, including on-site and off-site activities.

Meet the Team

The Office Manager provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to ensure the site runs efficiently and professionally while serving as a trusted point of contact across teams, vendors, and onsite leadership. The Office Manager maintains organized systems and documentation, supports internal communications, and helps coordinate events and engagement activities to foster a positive workplace environment. This position requires strong judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage office operations, including inventory of office, health, cleaning, and breakroom supplies and equipment.
  • Own vendor relationships for office services and supplies, from sourcing through ongoing performance.
  • Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for process consistency, create templates, playbooks, and shared services models, and execute predefined business procedures, processes, and projects.
  • Partner closely with Facilities to ensure the site stays compliant with heath, safety, and security protocols.
  • Provide light maintenance and troubleshooting across a wide variety of office equipment.
  • Support strategic planning for the office and help solve office-wide operational challenges.
  • Actively plan, coordinate, and execute company workshops, events, parties, and celebrations including larger on-site meetings and workshops, site-specific, corporate, or off-site activities that support employee engagement, and hosting external visitors and special guests.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline and 2+ years of experience in office management or a similar administrative role.
  • Experience using electronic calendaring, communication, presentation, and reporting tools across (examples: MS Office, Adobe Pro, DocuSign, Navan / Concur, Workday, Jira), as well as other tools that streamline administrative workflows and support the introduction or improvement of automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, prioritization, and strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to ethically handle sensitive and highly confidential information with impartiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to use verbal and written communication to build trust and strong relationships, effectively create reports and relate data, and communicate to a diverse workforce as well as external partners and guests.
  • Ability to meet travel, training, and safety requirements applicable to a product development environment, including: US Driver’s license, use of personal protective equipment, and occasional exposure to inclement / outdoor weather conditions.
Travel, Training and Safety
  • Position requires transportation to locations outside the main complex. Valid US Driver’s license with a safe driving record required.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required in areas identified through hazard assessment.
  • Requires continuous technical education and training with a passion for knowledge in the field of study to maintain the highest level of knowledge, ingenuity, and creative thinking.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work occasionally in inclement weather/temperature extremes.
  • May occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to make presentations and communicate to small and large groups.
  • The position requires the employee to be able to enter, exit, and ride in both class 8 trucks and passenger vehicles.
  • Ability to work overtime when project demands. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule when necessary.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Torc's total compensation package will also include our corporate bonus and stock option plan. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, relocation, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
