Job summary

Virtua Medical Group is seeking an Office Assistant for Primary Care to perform medical office duties such as verifying insurance, answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, registering patients, and entering all billing information into the system.

You will collect co-pays, handle pre-certifications, and may train other office assistants. Excellent communication and multitasking in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking abilities and computer literacy.
  • 0-2 years Medical Office experience.
  • HS diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Answers and screens phone calls by third ring and directs to the appropriate staff.
  • Schedules patient appointments and registers patients with updated demographics and insurance info.
  • Enters charges and payments, collects co-pays, reconciles batches and prepares deposits.
  • Prepares referrals and obtains pre-certifications as required; may train office assistants.
