The City of Benton Police Department is seeking an Office Assistant to support the Office Manager, answer calls, maintain records, and process payments for fines and reports.
Under supervision, responsibilities include greeting the public, inputting reports and warrants, and ensuring accurate data entry in the department's computer system. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a high school diploma required.
Salary range: $32,500-$51,540 per year or $15.63-$24.78 per hour

The Office Assistant works under the general supervision of the Office Manager and is responsible for answering and directing all incoming telephone calls; for maintaining all files and records of incidents; and for receiving money for fines, warrants and reports for the Benton Police Department. This position is governed by State and Federal laws and department policy.
The Office Assistant has frequent contact with department personnel, courts, prosecuting attorney, businesses, insurance companies and the general public.
Other education and/or experience might be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the Chief of Police.
