The Minnesota Department of Corrections, Rush City facility, seeks an Office & Admin Specialist Intermediate to provide administrative support for the Mental Health unit and Release Planner. Day shift, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
You will manage data for clinical information, oversee legal documents, and assist management in program evaluation and budgeting decisions. Strong data entry, typing, and communication skills are essential.

This position is responsible for an administrative area, under limited supervision, providing a wide range of technical, administrative support, and work duties necessary for the functioning of a complex Mental Health, Department at Minnesota Correctional Facility – Rush City (RC). Position also requires administrative support to the Release Planner. This position oversees and is responsible for ensuring necessary data collection and data management of clinical information related to Mental Health, thereby supporting and facilitating the work of clinical services. Management of this data is necessary to facilitate the program staff and DOC in information flow, program evaluation and management, and the DOC in making decisions related to budget, policy and legislative initiatives. This position oversees legal documents, so significant care is exercised in order to mitigate risk for the department, as well as to ensure best clinical outcomes. This position assists the management staff in providing direction to the Behavioral Health team.

This position will require Tuberculosis screening prior to hire.
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
