Job summary

County of Siskiyou seeks a Probation Support Specialist to assist offenders with service access, discharge planning, education, and life skills while coordinating with community resources. The role includes group facilitation for Batterer’s Treatment and crisis counseling under guidance.

Responsibilities include developing personalized discharge plans and aiding offenders in navigating medical, mental health, or substance treatment services, both in custody and after release.

Qualifications

• Interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and communities.
• Coordinate multiple community resources to serve client needs.
• Gather, plan, and organize data and information.
• Establish and maintain effective working relations with colleagues and agencies.
• Interview and secure information from people.

Responsibilities

• Works with Probation Department staff to overcome barriers to educational, vocational, and daily living skills.
• Facilitates Evidenced Based Programming and maintains fidelity of Batterer's Treatment Program.
• Identifies offenders with specialized discharge needs and arranges referrals.
• Interviews inmates and/or probationers to determine needs and provide referrals.
• Maintains thorough case documentation.
• Coordinates with community-based services and tracks referrals.
