Job summary

The County of Siskiyou seeks a Probation Assistant to support offenders by coordinating access to services, discharge planning, and life-skills development under supervision. You will guide supervision requirements and refer clients to community resources.

Responsibilities include group facilitation, administration of batterer’s treatment, maintaining case files, and ensuring confidentiality per HIPAA while collaborating with community agencies.

Qualifications

• One year of performing social supportive work or related experience.
• Associate’s degree in behavioral science is desirable but not required.
• Experience in community corrections is desirable but not required.
• Must pass a pre-employment background investigation and pre-duty drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist offenders in identifying needs and applying for services.
• Provide group facilitation and administer the Batterer’s Treatment Program.
• Maintain thorough case documentation and coordinate services with community agencies.
• Develop customized discharge plans and assess post-release needs.
• Attend specialty court calendar days and assist offenders with access to services.
