Job summary

Department of Corrections is seeking a Correctional Case Manager to perform routine social casework linked to offender classification and re-entry planning. The role involves assessing risks, preparing case histories, and coordinating services for successful transition back into the community.

At Levels I–III, responsibilities expand from entry-level tasks to advanced classification work and specialized programs, with collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Level I: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent education/experience.
• Level II: Bachelor's degree and two years of correctional records management or social casework with related duties.
• Level III: Bachelor's degree and three years of correctional records management or social casework with related duties; master’s substitution allowed.

Responsibilities

• Uses interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine offender risks and needs; prepares case history reports and recommends program assignments.
• Reviews offender records to determine progress and eligibility for changes in assignments or classifications; serves on the classification unit.
• Advises offenders on personal problems, employment resources, and rehabilitation needs; delivers re-entry programs for successful community reintegration.
• Assists with reports such as parole summaries or presentence investigations.
• Receives and handles mail for offenders; develops transition plans aligned with re-entry services.
• Establishes networks with partners to provide post-release support for offenders and families.
