Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Justice & Public Safety Cabinet, Department of Corrections, Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC) seeks an Offender Information Supervisor to oversee staff in the offender records office at EKCC.

The role includes supervising staff, compiling judgments, maintaining records, processing open records requests, and using KOMS, Court-Net, E-Warrants and SOR. Coordinate with courts and law enforcement; complete sentence calculations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two years of management/administration/legal/paralegal/offender records experience required.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative, management, legal, paralegal, law enforcement, or offender records experience will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Responsibilities

  • Supervise offender information staff.
  • Compile reports to assign judgments to the specialists and assign daily work.
  • Maintain Controlled Intake Records and institutional records.
  • Process open records requests.
  • Work in systems such as the Kentucky Offender Management System (KOMS), Court-Net, E-Warrants and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry System (SOR).
  • Review inmate records for transfers.
  • Work directly with the Office of the Courts and Court Officials as well as local and State Police.
  • Complete sentence calculations.
