Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Case Manager to manage offender caseloads, assess needs, develop case plans, and coordinate programs for rehabilitation at Southern Correctional Institution in Troy, NC.

Responsibilities include transition planning, counseling, documentation, and collaboration with policy procedures, with a requirement for shift flexibility including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques.
• MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Assist in major programs for rehabilitation of offenders and coordination of education, work, and recreation.
• Plan and coordinate transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release.
• Apply supportive counseling techniques and conduct interviews.
• Work with prison policies and procedures.
• Gather and evaluate information on offender backgrounds and needs.
• Identify available community and public programs for offenders.
• Develop, implement, coordinate and supervise programs under prison policies.
• Communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Handle stressful situations with incarcerated offenders and potential violence.
• Work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation, or related field

High school diploma or GED with two years custody experience
