Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Georgia is seeking an Operations Technician to oversee offal screening, DAF, sludge handling, and chemical mixing, ensuring PPE usage and compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

You will monitor equipment, trailers, wastewater systems, and coordinate with third-party drivers, while performing cleanup and maintaining safety. The role requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and extended shifts, with a strong mechanical background.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relative poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Pass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 1 required

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates offal equipment and machinery such as tumble screens, augers, pumps, motors, dewatering equipment, compressors, chemical feed equipment, etc.
• Observes the fill level on trailers and tankers
• Drives jockey truck to move full and empty trailers and tankers
• Monitors mechanical wastewater equipment such as meters, pumps, motors, electrical, pivots, etc.
• Measures and monitors wastewater chemicals such as santiquan, polymer, and caustics.
• Washing soaps, etc.
• Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for assigned work area, tools, equipment, facilities, and grounds (i.e. walls and ceiling in receiving area, outside offal area, offal hole near open top, etc.)
• Works with third party drivers to coordinate the pick-up and delivery times of loaded and empty trailers and tankers
• Bail and compact cardboard as requested
• Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Safety & Environmental Manager
