Job summary

Ingredion in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Shift Lead to provide leadership for off-shift, weekend, and holiday plant operations, serving as the primary site contact during non-traditional hours. You will help ensure safety, productivity, and engagement while supporting operational excellence across the facility.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and at least three years in manufacturing with team leadership, plus proficiency in MS Office and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years in manufacturing with team coordination.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to lead meetings.
• Willingness to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary plant contact during off-shift, weekend, and holiday operations.
• Act as Incident Commander during EH&S emergencies.
• Provide first responder support within training requirements.
• Coordinate emergency maintenance and allocate resources.
• Monitor operations for performance gaps and escalation needs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS to resolve issues.
• Lead safety, engagement, and operational excellence on the floor.
