Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in manufacturing is strongly desired.
• Proven expertise in optimization for optical machining processes.
• Minimum 3 years of diamond turning experience in ultra-precision manufacturing with IR materials.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Diffsys.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate SPDT machine tools to produce ultra-precision optical components and high-value surfaces.
• Optimize machining processes capable of meeting extreme form and finish requirements.
• Apply advanced understanding of machine dynamics, vibration, thermal stability, and tool wear.
• Document process parameters, tooling configurations, non-conformances, and improvements; uphold safety and quality.
