Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods, Inc. seeks a Team Captain of Off Field Operations to ensure efficient processes, coach teammates, and support store performance. You’ll lead daily operations, deliver athlete-focused service, and uphold merchandising standards to keep the store fast, accurate, and athlete-ready.

You will build a strong team, lead hiring and onboarding, and ensure training and compliance across safety, policies, and procedures while meeting payroll and financial goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; 1–3 years of experience in retail.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations in store as Team Captain of Off Field Operations.
• Coach teammates and support overall store performance through strong execution.
• Provide clear, accurate product information and assist customers with inquiries.
• Follow floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment standards, etc.
• Promote loyalty programs, warranty sales, and enrollment in private label cards.
• Develop 30-60-90 day plans with the Store Manager to support business priorities.
• Sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining direct reports in areas of oversight.
• Ensure training, coaching, feedback, and development for teammates; conduct annual reviews.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures; enforce policies.
• Open/close procedures and cash office responsibilities; supervise teammates.
