Job summary

The Prime Search Group seeks an experienced Technical Project Engineer to lead OFCI equipment coordination, testing, and turnover for large-scale data center projects in the United States. You will interact with owners, engineering teams, GC, vendors, and commissioning teams to ensure successful startup and handover.

You will manage equipment schedules, review submittals, support FAT/SAT/IST, and drive commissioning across L1–L5, ensuring readiness for energization and turnover to operations.

Qualifications

• Prev. roles as Project Engineer, Technical Project Engineer, or Commissioning Engineer in mission-critical construction.
• Strong OFCI experience from procurement through commissioning.
• Experience supporting data center commissioning and equipment startup activities.
• Working knowledge of L1–L5 commissioning process.
• Experience with mission-critical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, PDU/RPP, ATS/STS, chillers, BMS/EPMS.
• Experience coordinating OEMs and equipment vendors through FAT, delivery, installation, startup, testing, turnover.
• Ability to interpret drawings, submittals, specs, RFIs, and commissioning documentation.
• Strong communication skills across engineering, construction, vendors, commissioning, and client teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate OFCI equipment throughout the project lifecycle, from procurement and submittal review through delivery, installation, startup, commissioning, and turnover.
• Track equipment schedules, procurement status, manufacturing milestones, FAT dates, shipping, site delivery, installation readiness, and commissioning requirements.
• Coordinate directly with OEMs, vendors, general contractors, subcontractors, commissioning agents, engineering teams, and owner representatives.
• Support technical review of equipment submittals, shop drawings, specifications, RFIs, installation requirements, and vendor documentation.
• Ensure OFCI equipment is installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and project standards.
• Participate in and coordinate FAT, SAT, startup, FPT, IST; support commissioning across L1–L5.
• Coordinate commissioning schedules and ensure equipment is ready to meet energization, startup, and testing milestones.
• Identify technical issues and drive resolution; manage punch lists and commissioning deficiencies.
• Review and support development of commissioning procedures, test scripts, checklists, MOPs, SOPs, and startup documentation.
• Coordinate equipment interfaces across electrical, mechanical, controls, BMS/EPMS, fire/life safety, and other critical systems.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, equipment trackers, commissioning records, test reports, and turnover packages.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide updates on equipment status, risks, and schedule.
• Support final documentation, closeout, training, and handover of commissioned systems to operations.
