Job summary

Albers Management & Design Services, LLC seeks an experienced project manager to lead OFCI equipment for a hyperscale data center project in New Florence, Missouri. The role coordinates procurement, delivery, and installation, reporting to the project team while remaining an Albers employee.

The candidate will manage equipment logistics, FAT coordination, inspections, and handoff activities, ensuring alignment with the construction schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of experience in construction project management, equipment procurement, expediting, or project logistics.
• Experience with procurement, delivery, or receiving of major MEP or electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, chillers, or air handlers).
• Experience on data center, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or similar systems-intensive projects.
• Ability to tie equipment milestones to construction schedules.
• Strong tracking, documentation, and vendor communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Track OFCI equipment from purchase order through fabrication, factory testing, shipment, delivery, and installation handoff.
• Maintain the equipment log, including order status, fabrication milestones, ship dates, required-on-site dates, and float against the construction schedule.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, freight carriers, the owner, and installing contractors on delivery sequencing, site access, rigging, and laydown.
• Identify delivery risks early and develop recovery options with project leadership.
• Coordinate or attend factory acceptance testing (FAT) and factory witness tests where required.
• Lead receiving inspections: verify equipment against submittals and purchase orders, document shipping damage, and track deficiencies to closure.
• Manage storage and preservation requirements for equipment held on site before installation.
• Maintain records for handoff to installation, startup, commissioning, and turnover.
• Report status, risks, and decisions to project leadership clearly and regularly.
