OEM / Renewables Sales Representative

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an OEM / Renewables Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Growing sales in your assigned territory for the OEM/ Specialty division of the Electrical Markets Division, working closely with key distributor partners. Must reside within the territory.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Establishment and Achievement of Objectives: Effectively manage your territory and accounts. Understand sales goals, establish self-directed coverage plans with manager support, develop tactics, and coordinate efforts to meet quarterly and annual objectives. Recommend adjustments and reassessments to the business plan and set new objectives. Achieve sales targets.
  • Sales and Marketing: Use the sales process to achieve results. Apply understanding of 3M’s brand, innovation story, and product applications to maximize revenue. Utilize social selling tools to connect with industry and customers, train channel partners on products, and represent the business unit to customers and prospects. Provide sales support to distributors and report market conditions and competitive activities.
  • Coordination and Planning: Plan and manage your time and resources effectively, adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate account and prospect information, and manage sales support materials.
  • Leadership: Exhibit leadership with accounts and peers, accept direction, and lead initiatives as appropriate. May involve training and mentoring other sales staff.
Additional Requirements:
  • Position requires driving a company vehicle, with ongoing review of motor vehicle history.
Your Skills and Expertise

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of sales experience in any private, public, government, or military environment
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of electrical experience in any of the above environments
  • Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Salesforce.com
Work Location & Travel
  • Remote-based in Minnesota
  • Up to 40% domestic travel
  • Relocation may be authorized
Additional Information

Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship. Compensation range: $141,150 - $172,517 plus benefits. For more details, visit our benefits page.
